Point Shooting & Alternative Sighting Methods

Lethal force encounters usually occur at very close distances, closer than you might imagine. When the bad guy attacks he will pick the time and the place of the attack. Felonious attacks are far more likely to occur when the lighting conditions are poor and the attacker feels that he has the advantage. When the assailant pulls a knife or a gun he will be close, very close. Do you think you will see your front sight before you pull the trigger? Or, do you think your eyes will be locked onto the man that is trying to kill you and the weapon he has in hand?

Most people that have fired shots in self defense at very close distances report that they did not see their sights. This has been proven time and time again during Force on Force Scenario Based Training when the students state they never saw their sights while firing at their attacker. If this is what will happen during a deadly dynamic encounter, it only makes sense to learn how to fire fast and accurate shots at close distances without using the gun sights in the traditional manner. This course will teach the student how to use alternative sighting methods that are fast and tactically accurate.

The training methodology used will have the student shooting without the use of the gun sights from 3 yards to 7 yards. We make sure you cannot use your sights by placing tape over the front sight and the rear sight. You will amaze yourself at how accurate and how fast you can be.

When the attack comes it will be close, fast, and lighting conditions will be less than desirable. You must get accurate rounds on the target very quickly so that you can win the encounter. We want you to not only win the deadly force encounter; we want you to DOMINATE the encounter.

This class is typically held on a Saturday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The student will be required to bring a handgun, holster, gun belt, and at least three magazines. 300 rounds of practice ammo will be needed along with eye protection, hearing protection, a baseball cap, high neck shirt, and long pants.
