Close Quarters Battle - AR15 Rifle

Can you fight at arm’s length with your AR15 rifle and not get it taken away from you? Can you clear rooms safely and not expose your position with the AR? This class is about fighting from bad breath distances to room size distances. The students will learn weapon retention skills and weapon take away skills. We will also cover transition to handgun skills. Close quarters battle skills are being used every day in Iraq and Afghanistan, but they may also come in very handy inside your home.

Students will learn speed shooting skills that can be used without the traditional sighting system on the AR at short distances. We guarantee that our students will increase their speed and still deliver tactical accuracy with their AR15 rifle. When the fighting is in close, speed is of the utmost importance. If you do not get debilitating hits on your assailant quickly, you will suffer the consequences. Students will have the opportunity to clear rooms and defend against gun take-aways and will learn how to move quickly and safely with the AR in a close quarters battle environment.

This class is usually held on Saturdays at Red Brush Rifle Range from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Jeff Westfall of Rising Phoenix Mixed Martial Arts Academy teaches the weapon retention and gun take-aways and Guy Minnis teaches the close quarters shooting and room clearing techniques.

The student will be required to bring an AR15 rifle, 300 rounds of ammo, at least three magazines, a handgun, 50 rounds of ammo for the handgun, holster, and mag pouches, eye protection, hearing protection, a ball cap and high neck shirt.
