1911 Pistol Workshop

The 1911 pistol is going to be celebrating its 100th birthday very soon. This is one robust handgun that has obviously been around for a very long time, is still very popular, and it is still getting the job done.  The most popular calibers in the 1911 design are the venerable .45 acp, 9 mm, .38 Super, and .40 Smith & Wesson.  There are probably more 1911 style pistols in the world than any other semi-auto design.  John Browning was the creator of the 1911 and at one time this was the sidearm of the United States Armed Forces.  It has been replaced by the 9 mm Beretta and I, for one, think this was a mistake.

Would you like to learn how to completely disassemble your 1911 pistol, clean it, maintain it, inspect the parts, and be able to put it all back together?  We will discuss what tools you should have on hand for your 1911 pistol, what parts you can replace yourself and what parts only a qualified gunsmith should replace and work on.  We will also cover some of the more popular parts and pieces that 1911 owners like to put on their pistols and which ones to avoid.  Come join us, bring your favorite 1911 pistol, and learn the ins & outs of your 1911.
