LEO Close Quarters Battle – AR15 Skills

As is the case in all Close Quarters Battle (CQB) type classes the operator learns how to fight inside a phone booth, well, at least it may seem that way.  When law enforcement officers go inside of homes, apartments, or other buildings the distances between the suspect and the officer are usually very short.  Sometimes the distances become too short and the officer finds himself/herself in a fight over the weapon.  If the bad guy grabs your rifle, do you know what to do?  Can you defend your rifle and yourself from a gun grab?

LEO Close Quarters Battle – Handgun Skills

A small percentage of LEO’s are killed every year with their own weapon.  In very close encounters known as Close Quarters Battle (CQB) type engagements with the assailant, officers can be disarmed rather easily if they do not possess the skills to hang onto their handgun.  Officers have been and will continue to be disarmed while the handgun is in the holster.  Security type holsters have made this more difficult, but far from impossible.  This is the very reason that all officers should possess skills that enables them to protect the gun while it is in the holster and while the gun is in hand.

LEO Tactical AR15 Skills

This is not a basic AR15 class.  This class is for those officers that are already certified to carry the AR15 rifle on patrol.  This class visits the basics, but concentrates on the more advanced techniques concerning the AR.  Ground fighting skills, shooting on the move, shooting moving targets, shooting moving targets while you are moving, fighting your way to cover, pistol transitions, disabled drills (left & right hand), shooting around cover while using your left & right side, room clearing exercises, and much more.

LEO Tactical Motor Unit – Handgun Skills

Guy Minnis, the Director of Training for HARD TARGET Firearms Training, use to be the Firearms Training Coordinator for the Evansville Police Department (EPD) and in that capacity he developed a firearms training program for the EPD Motor Unit (motorcycle unit).  Guy’s program trained EPD Motor Officers, Vanderburgh County Motor Officers, and other outside law enforcement agencies.  His Tactical Motor Unit – Handgun Skills training received rave reviews from the officers attending those classes.  Guy was able to develop this training course in conjunction with certified Motor Officer Instructors of the EPD.

LEO Tactical Shotgun Skills

The 12 gauge shotgun loaded with 00 buckshot is the most devastating close quarters weapon system on the planet.  With a single press of the trigger, nine .33 caliber pellets race toward the intended target with lots of bad intentions.  Typically, when we fire a handgun or a rifle round we are depending on the round to mushroom or fragment and cause a more serious wound channel in the human body.  The 12 gauge shotgun loaded with 00 buckshot is sending a pre-fragmented round at the bad guy at over 1,100 feet per second.  When the 00 buckshot slams into the targeted criminal, the affect is awesome.
